First Sunday of Advent
Awaken to Love
Awaken to Love
The first Sunday of Advent which also symbolise the the starting of the new liturgical year. It's a season for us to prepare for the birth of our Lord. Advent is a time of joyous anticipation, but also of penance and preparation for the great Christmas feast. The Church discourages excessive ornamentation, loud music and even weddings during Advent, in order to have a sense of quiet hope.
Being the called-to-be-earthly-parents of the Lord and waiting patiently for His arrival must had been a joyful feeling for them. Two thousands years later , being the followers and children of God, we should try to understand the joy that Mother Mary and St Joesph were feeling. From there we can also experience the joy and anxiety for His arrival.
The waiting can long and tiring. There can be lots of obstacles along the way but it worth our patient as it will bring us the eternal life with our God.
